Yomi Kanda (
He was a student at Daiba High School in class 2-A along with his twin brother Yami Kanda. After falling into Tokyo Underworld, he's known as The Special Grade Felon due to his rank as a special grade and was also the vice commander of the guilty army during the Honnoji Temple Hell. Some time later it is revealed that Yomi is an executioner[4] named Tsukuyomi (つくよみ, Tsukuyomi?).[5]
Etymology[]
- Yomi's surname Kanda means "god/deity" (神) (kan) and "field/rice paddy" (田) (da).
Appearance[]
Yomi Kanda is a slender adolescent in his mid-teens with a petite physique, characterized by his short, ebony hair neatly parted down the center and his graceful long bangs swept to either side of his face. His complexion is fair, while his eyes bear a deep shade of gray, endowing them with an enigmatic allure. During his tenure as a student at Daiba High School, Yomi adheres to the customary school uniform, which he dons with an air of formality befitting his educational pursuits. However, within the confines of his home, he adopts a more relaxed and casual attire, embracing comfort and ease in his personal style.
As Tsukuyomi, Yomi gains various spots on his body, some resembling the moon.
Personality[]
Yomi's demeanor stands in stark contrast to that of his twin sibling, Yami, despite their innate connection known as Twin Synchronicity. While their bond may be undeniable, Yomi consistently exhibits a divergent attitude. With an unwavering commitment to altruism, he consistently strives to extend his assistance to others with wholehearted dedication. Regrettably, this benevolent nature occasionally leaves him vulnerable to the harsh consequences of his generosity, leaving him susceptible to physical harm and being subjected to acts of violence.
Background[]
At the age of 5, Yomi was held captive by a group called Inferno who were investigating the executioners of Tokyo Underworld who were trying to investigate his abilities, however one day, a group of orphans would arrive at the facility and one of them named Rene would discover the true intentions of the group, Yomi would see how each of those orphans would die at the hands of the director of the institution, so from that moment on he would erase his own memories, making his skills as an executioner hidden for a time.[6]
However, his abilities would not go away completely as he would develop synchronization to protect his brother Yami as a defense method due to the beatings of his father, causing Yami to feel the injuries being caused to Yomi and vice versa. Due to this rare ability, their parents would take them to the hospital, the doctor assigned to treat them would be Dr. Isari, the director of the hospital, who due to the curiosity of the synchronization, would accept the case, both having to go to consultations to inform the doctor about their case. Some time later, the doctor in charge would suffer an accident, prolonging their case. Some time later, their parents mysteriously disappeared, so they were cared for by their uncle, who used to hit Yomi.
Relationships[]
- Yami Kanda: Due to the unexplained absence of their parents, Yomi and Yami found themselves thrust into a shared journey of maturation and self-reliance. Bound by their unique circumstances, they have forged an unbreakable bond, nurturing a profound mutual admiration and placing each other's well-being at the forefront of their concerns. The unwavering support they provide for one another is paramount, as they navigate the complexities of life without the guidance and presence of their parents.
- Haine Saikawa: At first Haine and Yomi didn't have a relationship because they both had different personalities, however after falling into Tokyo Underworld, they both started talking to each other more often until they developed a friendship. Yomi has respect for her so he tries to protect her from any danger even if it puts him in danger himself. According to Lucifer, Yomi is in love with Haine.
- Enra Mizoregi: At first, Enra was a name related to his father's disappearance so he and Yami had set out to find Enra, unexpectedly finding him in Tokyo Underworld. Eventually Yomi would meet Enra in Ginza while both were prisoners of Antoinette so they both looked for a way to escape. After Enra and Yomi escaped to Asakusa they both became closer to the point that the executioners considered Yomi as the second in command.

Synchronicity[]
It is Yomi's executioner ability to connect with anyone, at first it was believed that Yomi and Yami had the same ability since Yami could feel Yomi's pain and vice versa, they could even share the same wounds and show them on the body of one of them, however some time later it is revealed that Yomi is the true user of the ability. Yomi can synchronize with anyone whose blood Yomi has absorbed.

- Yomi's name as an executioner refers to Tsukuyomi no Mikoto, the god of the moon in the Japanese mythology.
- Currently, he's the only special grade felon known in Tokyo Underworld.
