Nero performs acts with his blood, this serves to hide the essence of the crimes from any guilty person he wants.[3] His blood also allows him to carve his mark on anyone's body as long as they both exchange bodily fluids.[4]

History[]

At 13 years old, René was an orphan along with his friends Jina Kurusu and Eigo Ishikawa who had just moved to a new home when the previous one had to close. However, thanks to René's discovery, they discover that it is actually a research center for the Tokyo Underworld executioners carried out by a group known as Inferno, René sacrifices himself so that the others are not harmed, however Jina and Eigo are sent to Tokyo Underworld along with René becoming executioners. Some time later, René would take on Nero's mantle.

After the death of the 4th president, Nero would assume the position of president. After Nero assumed his position, a guilty named Enra Mizoregi would arrive in Tokyo Underworld, doing his job Nero would recruit him and give him the name Nobunaga along with his uniform, entrusting him with the mission of murdering all the guilties, including Enra's niece, to which Enra would refuse, starting a bad relationship between the two. Nero would continue with his work helping executioners of all ranks to solve their problems, which earned him great support among the citizens.

Over time Nero would become a beloved president unlike his predecessor, however 5 years after assuming office, Nobunaga would start a rebellion in order to bring his niece to the real world so Nero would order Nobunaga to be arrested causing the death of several of his members of the private guard, despite deploying all his personnel, Nero could not stop Nobunaga causing Haine to reach the Tokyo tower, at first Nero strangled Haine for being the cause of the deaths of his companions however Nero would let her pass and go to the real world, causing him to be relieved of his position as president. This event is known as the incident.[5]

After that Nero was given a prison and given the rank of high executioner. Currently, Nero along with Joan and Goemon plan revenge against Yoritomo who was the person who sent them to Tokyo Underworld as children in addition to being the person who planned with Lucifer to remove him from his position as president, so he plans to have his title back but before that killing Yoritomo.

Trivia[]

  • Nero is based on Emperor Nero aka Nero who was a Roman emperor and a tyrant. The violin theme Nero has with his characterization is a direct reference for the real life Nero being associated with fiddling while Rome was being burnt (albeit these accusations has a case of anachronism, since the modern violin as we know it was developed in the 14th century, decades after the real life Nero's lifespan.)
  • Apparently Nero can remove his mask at will just like Nobunaga, but unlike him, Nero does not seem to suffer consequences.
