Kyosuke Izanagi (
Kyosuke is a doctor trapped in Tokyo Underworld for the murder of his mentor and wife, Isari Namiki.
Etymology[]
- Kyosuke's surname Izanagi means "that one" (伊) (i), "assistant/help" (佐) (za) and "mow down" (薙) (nagi).
Appearance[]
Kyosuke is a tall person.
His hair is two different colors, one light and one dark.
Both in real life and in Tokyo Underworld, Kyosuke wears a doctor's coat.
Personality[]
Kyosuke is a mysterious person due to his kind personality, this personality makes people suspect that he has bad intentions.
Despite that, Kyosuke is a good person who likes to help others. He is kind and helpful to everyone.
Background[]
As a child, Kyosuke had an accident for which he needed surgery, the surgery was a success and this would inspire Kyosuke to study to become a doctor.
Seven years before the events of the series, Kyosuke would become a resident doctor at Keio University Hospital, there he would meet the hospital director who would be the daughter of the doctor who saved him as a child. During his days in the hospital, a family would arrive with his mentor to investigate a case of extreme physical synchronization in the family's twins (Yomi and Yami), Isari would take the case with the help of Keisuke. During one of their investigative meetings, Keisuke would tell Isari about the legend of Tokyo Underworld to which she would reply that it is nothing more than a legend. One day, Isari will have a car accident despite surviving the accident, Isari would be left quadriplegic so she could not continue practicing as a doctor. Kyosuke would go to visit her every day and he would realize that with each passing day Isari became more obsessed with the legend of Tokyo Underworld until one day Isari would tell Kyosuke to kill her so he could go to Tokyo Underworld, from that day on. One day Isari would constantly ask Kyosuke to kill her, until one day Kyosuke would agree to kill her by sending her to Tokyo Underworld and going with her.
Upon arriving in Tokyo Underworld, Kyosuke would realize that Isari became an executioner, determined to return her to her original form, he would try to find a way to save her, in one of his trips he would meet Emma and Akira who would share his vision of the world becoming in his helpers. Kyosuke would hear about the executioner Nobunaga who had not lost his humanity so he decides that they should go with him to find a solution.
Relationships[]
- Isari Namiki: Isari is Kyosuke's mentor and the daughter of the doctor who inspired Kyosuke to become a doctor. Kyosuke greatly admires his mentor due to her abilities and personality. Even after Isari became an executioner, Kyosuke set out to find a cure. According to Joan's master, Isari is Izanagi's wife.[1]
